Q. How long should we leave the purge compound in the barrel to soak?
A. “Soaking” is not required. PurgePacks™ rely on the modification of melt flow and non-abrasive scrubbing action created by the active ingredients to displace carbon buildup and resin degradation.
Q. Will PurgePacks™ damage my screw or barrel?
A. No. There are no components that can damage metals in any way.
Q. Are PurgePacks™ FDA approved?
A. PurgePacks™ like all purging compounds are not regulated by the FDA, however, all the components of PurgePacks™ are compliant with FDA.Q. Can PurgePacks™ reduce the cost of purging?
A. PurgePacks™ can offer many cost reductions. PurgePacks™ are compatible with all major resins, eliminating the need to inventory different grades of purging compounds. Since PurgePacks™ are pre-measured there is no need to weigh or mix and reduces the possibility of over-dosing and eliminate downtime associated to purging.
